First Living History speaker video recovered

by Jim Yocum on July 16, 2020

We are posting below, and on the Living History video page, a recently recovered recording of the Squadron’s very first speaker, Don C. Wood, Jr. uncle of Squadron member David Wood. We had thought that this recording had been lost, but a digital copy has surfaced and we have improved the sound and image to the extent possible.

New technology has clearer images and sound, but the story Don tells is hard to beat. He was a B-17 bomber pilot from 1943 to 1945 flying from Italy to targets in Romania, Germany, Austria and other countries under Axis control late in WWII. This was recorded on November 20th, 2008
