A Thank You from Squadron 283’s Adopted Platoon!

by Squadron 283 Editor on July 4, 2013

On July 3rd, the Squadron received a thank-you note from the commanding officer of our adopted platoon serving overseas.

Here’s what it said (with identifying information redacted as per Adopt-A-Platoon policy):

Dear Neal [Conners],I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank you and the Sons of the American Legion for supporting me and the Marines of ◊◊◊◊◊◊. Your packages have been happily received and have definitely lifted the spirits of myself and the Marines on ◊◊◊◊◊◊.

A little bit about myself and the guys…We are part of a ◊◊◊◊◊◊ Liaison Team whereby we train, mentor and advise the Soldiers of Company ◊◊◊◊◊◊ in support of OEF. We have been living and training with this foreign military for over a year now, having lived in the ◊◊◊◊◊◊ prior to deploying to ◊◊◊◊◊◊. I can tell with you with no equivocation that we all miss America. However, the items you have sent us (particularly the baseballs and mitts) have brought back a little piece of home.

Please thank everyone back home and know that what you continue to do for the men and women who serve our great country reminds us that we are not forgotten.

Very Respectfully,

1st Lt. ◊◊◊◊◊◊ ◊◊◊◊◊◊
