April 2013 Meeting Announcement

Don’t forget, this Thursday is our regular April meeting. We will be announcing our Officer Slate for 2013/2014 and accepting nominations from the floor, from anyone who is interested in being on the board. Most importantly, we will be continuing our Loving History program with a very special guest, Anna Brown, who served in the USMC during WWII.

March 2013 Meeting Announcement

This Thursday is our March regular meeting.

We will have another installment of our Living History Program, with Dr. Mike Martini.

Dr. Martini served in the United States Navy during WWII. Not only was he a pediatrician for many of you who grew up in the Palisades (and many of your children!), he is also receiving a 50 Year pin, for being a member of the American Legion for 50 years.

Join Us For Movie Night – Chosin

On Friday, March 1st, the Sons of the American Legion, Post 283, are hosting a special presentation of Chosin, a 2010 film directed by Brian Iglesias.

Chosin tells the story of 15,000 US soldiers and Marines surrounded and trapped by an overwhelming force of Communist Chinese soldiers in the frozen mountains of North Korea. Facing impossible odds, the men fought 78 miles to freedom and saved the lives of 98,000 civilian refugees.
